Wildlife education is a major
emphasis at the SRDC. Teachers, students, wildlife experts, and
local residents participate in programs and volunteer activites
that impact the entire community.

This cougar was acquired with the help of Youth for Earth from Red Bluff High School and was prepared by Harold Jenkins, taxidermist. This 5 year old, 150 pound male was killed with a depradation permit. |
This beaver lived on the little island, just northwest of the Dscovery Center and developed a disabling eye infection. With the help of Julie Buer and six days of antibiotics, it's recovered fully. |
